Chore rota generator for flatmates
Type the names and the chores. You get a fair rotation, and every housemate gets a personal link that shows their own weeks and downloads a calendar (.ics) file for their phone.
This rota is bigger than the free version
The free version makes rotas for up to 4 people and 4 weeks.
The paid Chore Rota Pro licence unlocks exactly this:
- rotas for up to 12 people (free: up to 4);
- rotas of up to 26 weeks (free: up to 4);
- six chore preset lists: shared flat, student house, couple, family with kids, house with pets and deep-clean month.
Those are the caps of the paid version: it does not make rotas above 12 people or 26 weeks.
Licence: USD 3.50, one-time.

Staying free works too: enter 4 people or fewer and 4 weeks or fewer, and make the next rota when this one runs out. The people who receive a link never need a licence to open it.
The rotation
Personal links
Send each person their own link. It opens a page with their weeks, a button that adds them to their calendar, and the whole house table. The schedule is inside the link itself, so anyone who has a link can read the names and chores in it.
How the rotation stays fair
Each week every chore has exactly one person, and each chore moves on by one person every week. Over the weeks, the number of times any two people do the same chore never differs by more than one. With more people than chores, somebody has a week off and the week off rotates too. With more chores than people, some people take two chores in a week and that also rotates.
| Week | Bins | Kitchen | Bathroom | Vacuum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ana | Ben | Cleo | Dev |
| 2 | Ben | Cleo | Dev | Ana |
| 3 | Cleo | Dev | Ana | Ben |
| 4 | Dev | Ana | Ben | Cleo |
What each housemate gets
- A personal link: their chores week by week, with the whole house table below.
- A calendar file (.ics) with one all-day event on the first day of each week they have a chore. It can be added to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and other calendar apps that read .ics files.
- No account and no app to install, for the organiser or for anyone else.
Privacy in one paragraph
The schedule lives only in the link, in the part after the # sign, which browsers do not send to a server. Nothing is stored server-side. Anyone who has a link can read the names and chores in it, so share links only with your household. Details are on the privacy page.
